Dream Dance Studio, Inc. incorporated in April 2002. We teach dance instruction in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz/Hip Hop, Tap, Modern, Hip-Hop, preschool Creative Movements, Musical Theater, and Ballroom Dancing. We have recently added some new classes. We now offer a “Mommy and Me” style Creative Movements class for 18 months to 3 years old, a Boys-Only Hip Hop class, and a Dance Ministry. We are also home to the award winning Dream Team, our intensive dance team.
Our goal is to enrich our students’ lives with not only knowledge of dance but a love of dance and themselves. Through dance, we hope our students will develop a self-discipline that will last them the rest of their lives. We also try to instill in our students a general knowledge and appreciation of different types of music.
In this age of technology, most children do not get the physical activity they need to stay healthy and in shape; at Dream Dance Studio, Inc. we offer a fun physical activity that targets all muscles of the body and also enhances stretching and flexibility skills.
The owner and artistic director, Olivia Bartley-Hill is a certified teacher through Dance Educators of America and believes in the power of positive reinforcement to encourage and empower all her students.
Don’t forget to read the monthly newsletters so you know what is going on at the studio. This month we have two news letters: the November newsletter and the Noel News For You which talks about all the different Christmas performance opportunities. We would hate for you to miss out because you weren’t informed so we deliver this information in several different ways. You can read the newsletters here on our website under Monthly Newsletters, dancers receive them in class, and you can sign up to receive them through email here. If you have any questions about anything you can call or ask someone at the front desk.
We are doing signups for the Fantasy of Trees in Knoxville, TN on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, from three to six. We will be performing the Friday after Thanksgiving, November 28, at the earliest 3:00 pm in the afternoon. We have not been assigned an exact time yet. We will communicate that to you as soon as we know. We will rent the costumes again this year. The cost will be $20.00 and needs to be paid when the dancer signs up or the next time the dancer is in the studio if the sign up is by phone. The same costume will be used again for the nursing home performances. If the rental fee is not paid before fall break, your name will be removed from the list and your spot will given to next dancer on the wait list. We are limited to 50 dancers from the studio. We have divided our dancers into five groups as follows:
- Kindergarten -1st Grade
- 2nd – 3rd Grade
- 4th- 5th Grade
- Middle – High School
Each group will be limited to the first 10 dancers in each category to sign up. In order for all dancers to have an equal chance, we will take sign ups on Wednesday, October 1st, from 3:00 pm – 6:00pm. The sign ups may be by phone only if no one is in the studio waiting to sign up. We will have a short wait list for each group in case someone has to drop out or does not pay the rental fee on time. The dancer is also committed to attend the rehearsal on Wednesday before Thanksgiving, probably at 4:00 pm (It is on the calendar).
The Clinton Christmas Parade will be the first Saturday in December. Dancers who are 1st grade and younger, will ride in the back of a pick-up truck. They will only need the studio warm-up jacket. The cost is $45.00. Dancers 2nd grade and older will dance and need the full studio warm-up suit which will cost $70.00. Parents who want to walk in the parade or ride with the dancers in the pick-ups or wagon, will need the studio warm-up jacket or the studio hoodie. We will wear these warm-ups for the next three years. If you already own a warm up suit, you do not have to purchase another one unless it does not fit. Everyone in the parade must also wear a Santa hat and white gloves.
The jackets will say, “DANCER” or “DANCE MOM”.
The hoodie will say “DANCE DAD”
Go to the front desk to get a warm-up order form.
